We spent a half a day in Baltimore, and enjoyed a tour of the Inner Harbor.
This shot was taken from the observation deck. Inner Harbor is a urban restoration project of a formerly
seedy waterfront. The pyramidal building is the aquarium. |
This is Charlaine on the plaza in front of the aquarium. The Inner
Harbor is a people-friendly area; not too Disneyfied; lots of open space. |
We took a tour of Fort McHenry, which has been restored to a
high polish. The British ships shelled the fort from about halfway out into the bay, there.
Francis Scott Key, a lawyer, was being held on one of those ships, and he watched the bombs
bursting in air, etc. |
